For the past couple months I’ve been coming up with ideas for what I’m calling a “reboot” of my social media. As many of you might know I have quite a few YouTube channels. My primary channel has always been “Apav5” which was a channel I created before I was aloud to put my name on the internet. Since I primarily posted video game related content on that channel I later created a MilitiaOfOne YouTube and Twitter account. The rest has slowly evolved over the years. Apav was like a nickname to me, but MilitiaOfOne became somewhat of it’s own brand. I like it that way oppose to trying to have two online identities. However in order to truly be myself online I’ve decided to create an Alec Pavlik YouTube channel, Twitter account, Facebook profile and Facebook page. Along with all that I’m creating a Facebook page for Apav and MilitiaOfOne. So if you like the things I’m doing on MilitiaOfOne please like it on Facebook! This leap into Facebook is super confusing to me, so I’ll probably be more active on my pages than the profile. Don’t take it personally if I friend you and have no idea what I’m doing.
The reason I’m calling this a reboot is to both reaffirm what all my social media profiles are for, and to give myself some new found enthusiasm for all these projects. My Apav5 channel is taking the major changes during this reboot. I’m changing the name to “Apav” (without the 5), creating new series, opening a store and changing some of the channel art. MilitiaOfOne will primary stay the same, but I’m also planning on posting more videos on the MilitiaOfOne YouTube channel. Also I’ve done a few touch-ups on the blog’s descriptions.
There’s also been a few things that have been bothering me. The original point of the MilitiaOfOne blog was to explain to liberal leaning people what a conservative perspective was. However since the majority of my subscribers turned out to be conservative I ended up writing to the audience I already had. The 2016 election definitely took my focus off the style of writing I wanted this blog to represent. That itself is not wrong, but I’ve felt more and more concerned about sending people to this site. Like, if someone disagrees with me I want to be able to send them to this blog and find intrigue or common ground in what I have to say. There’s no point in writing if I’m only telling people what they already know. So while I don’t disagree with any of my posts, I’m going to try to put a higher focus on making content that will both keep people here and bring new people in.
