What do I mean by “Obama Didn’t Work?” Am I talking about his work ethic, his policies or his health? Actually, none of the above. While Barack Obama completely transformed the Democratic Party’s base, he failed at something that so many conservatives originally hoped for. As a very young conservative I was horrified when Obama got elected, but my parents always reminded me that half the country did vote for him and we’re “all still Americans.” Something many of us hoped for was even if we opposed many of Obama’s policies, that he’d at least mend race relations in the United States. Our thinking was that the first black president was finally proof that anyone can become whatever they want in the United States of America. Instead we got the exact opposite.
Before I start explaining what has happened in the past decade let me explain Barack Obama’s past one last time. He did not grow up in the black community or was even raised by black people. Technically he’s half white to begin with. There’s nothing wrong with that, except the fact many people voted for him because he understood “black struggles.” Obama’s father was a Kenyan Muslim who left before Obama was even one years old. This left Obama to be raised by his white mother and an Indonesian step-dad, who was also Muslim. Now obviously anyone can have struggles, and Obama even said his mother use to have trouble affording insurance. Problem is Obama’s entire backstory (if true) not only disproves that he’s a typical African American, but also Bernie Sanders’ current argument that “white people don’t know what it’s like to be poor.” Since then there’s been tuns of weird doors opening for Obama throughout his life (like his mother who supposably couldn’t afford insurance somehow getting him into the most private school in Hawaii), but that’s not the subject of this article.
Later in his life Barack Obama met his pastor Jeremiah Wright. Up until the 2008 election Obama referred to Reverend Wright as a “friend and mentor” and “like a father.” However in 2008 the media took interest in what Obama claimed to be a “typical black church.” Reverend Wright was caught preaching that the USA deserved 911 for “killing innocent people” and exclaimed the now infamous line “God bless America? No no no God damn America!” Then Obama got caught in a tangent of lies claiming he never heard anything controversial while at Wright’s Church, then saying he has heard some controversial things. Keep in mind this is a church that Obama claimed to be attending for 20 years. The father figure of the president of the United Stated wants God to damn America. That isn’t super surprising when you learn that Obama’s mother was pretty much raised by open communists.
The reason I bring this up is not to prove a point, but a motive as to why Obama’s legacy did not work. During the Civil Rights Movement there were two major figures of completely different perspectives, Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X. MLK was a social activist who believed the only difference between whites and blacks is our skin color. He lead non-violent protests and would get severely depressed if they turned violent. He was a Baptist and wanted a future of peace and living in unity. Malcolm X however hated white people. He refered to white people as devils, and believes equality could only be won through what seemed to be a civil war. He believed Islam was the religion for blacks and Christianity was the white man’s religion. There’s a reason why he didn’t go down in history like MLK did, however for Marxist revolutionaries, Malcolm X is a hero. He met with Castro, supported rebellion and was opposed to western culture in most humanly possible ways. These two drastically different ideologies have been battling it out under Americans’ noses for years, and Barack Obama was not raised by the first one.
Under Barack Obama the exact opposite of what we all hoped for happened. Race relations got worse. The black vote become even more loyally Democrat, and Obama had a motive to keep an entire race ideologically bound in order to keep the Democratic Party afloat. It got so bad I believe Americans were preparing for civil war. Our gun sales quadrupled, the militia movement grew exponentially and even after the 2016 election ended the Oath Keepers posted “we just ducked a bullet, and avoided a civil war… for now.” For the first time in my life I had seen riots, flag burning and literally a white man being tortured all because of race, all under Barack Obama. Meanwhile he never condemned the violence brought against this country and the people who support it, but instead criminalized those trying to defend it. Marines, cops and veterans became targets of the political machine, and while Obama did nothing, race relations got worse. All we saw on TV was “Black Lives Matter” chanting death to our police and burning businesses. Of course if black teens are being convinced this is a war for their freedom against “neo-Nazis” they’re not going to stop unless the black president of the United States actually says something seriously and consistently. And of course white people and children and cops are going to be more skittish when this violence is being treated as common protest by mainstream media. Now we have two sides of radical evils that don’t make up the majority of the United States and keeps trying to advancing our politics. Yesterday in Charlottesville, White Nationalists and Black Lives Matter broke out in violence against one another. One of the protestors drove his car into the counter protesters, resulting in at least one death and multiple injuries. The protest was originally over a decision to remove a Robert E. Lee statue, but people showed up early and quickly turned violent. I oppose the removal of the statue as well, but considering the outcome of this protest, it was not about reasonable discussion. I believe this to be the results of the Obama Era turning the Democratic Party into an anti-American safe haven, and in response to their racism against white people, white nationalist groups are seeing growth. It might be a large amount of growth in comparison, but I’m still under the impression that white nationalism is extremely small compared to the general population. What’s currently happening is a battle over good and evil. The communists in the media desperately want this to be a white nationalism v.s. socialism kind of debate. Just like in Russia and Cuba socialists will always win the hearts of people if they feel oppressed. The America Revolution was a remarkable thing where we didn’t trade a king for a dictator. If the two major political parties come to be nationalists v.s. socialists, everyone loses. As Americans we need to keep ourselves from going down the dangerous path of the lesser evil, and instead stick to what is right.
I guess Barack Obama did do a good job bringing us back to the 1960s, but considering he promised “Hope and Change” I don’t think his presidency exactly worked. Race relations have gotten much worse, racism on both sides of the fence has increased. Hopefully in the years to come, this time, race relations won’t just leave a political impact, but more of a social impact that will make MLK’s dream come true.
