Conservatives during the past four years have repeatedly blamed congress for not making enough progress in blocking the Obama administration. Only a small minority was filibustering, voting and not caring about their image. Two of the minority that voted purely based on virtue decided to run for president to make a bigger difference. These two were Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. However apparently my Republican Party is full of more ignorant zombies than I thought. Just like Democrats, the GOP went purely off the cover of the book instead of actually looking into it. They said the senators were “push overs” and “liars” for being congressmen instead of looking into their background. The majority of these people decided to support a billionaire who has served on every side of politics instead. Of course I’m referring to Donald Trump. Still the senators gave him a fair chance. However it didn’t take long until Rand Paul was done with Trump after Trump had insulted his physical appearance and promoted more government spying on American citizens. Ted Cruz remained somewhat of a buddy with Trump until Trump realized Cruz was a threat to his nomination. In the end one of the senators remained. Cruz fought his hardest to warn the party what the billionaire would do. After suffering personal attacks, virtual mud slinging at his wife, lies spread about his father, and a moderate candidate anchoring him down, he finally was forced to dropped out. The big-government billionaire somehow won the Republican nomination. However Ted Cruz stayed true to his virtues. He did not insult Trump’s wife, he did not support Trump’s disregard for a structured government, and he did not sell out and endorse Trump just because the higher ups in the party wanted him to. The great Donald even after 2 months of calling Cruz, “Lying Ted”, went out and lied about never saying anything bad about Cruz’s wife. With New York values you could say Trump didn’t “say” anything bad about Cruz’s wife, he was just saying, “a picture is worth a thousands words” while posting a bad photo of Cruz’s wife. Good thing I don’t have New York values and any normal American knows we should hold Trump at every one of the thousand words Trump was saying in that big egotistical head of his.
What’s sad is the senator (the one everyone said would be a sell out) never sold out, and yet people are now attacking him for not selling out. Cruz still hasn’t endorsed Donald Trump and refuses to do what he’s told. Unlike Democrats and moderates, Cruz wasn’t going to spend months fighting with someone and pretend like none of that happened after the primaries. What he said he meant, and he still hasn’t forgotten what Trump said about his family. In the beginning Cruz was friendly to Trump and was willing to endorse whoever became the nominee, but when you unapologetically mess with a man’s family, you shouldn’t expect an endorsement. So neocons in the Republican Party and Fox News, we don’t care if Cruz broke his promise to support the nominee and Cruz didn’t “commit suicide” for not endorsing Trump. People skeptical of Trump were Cruz’s backbone and by insulting Cruz you’re only alienating his former supporters. Trump now is saying even if Cruz endorsed him he wouldn’t accept his endorsement. Let me make this clear. Trump spent months dividing the party, chose a VP that wouldn’t win over any new voters, refused to sympathize with Cruz for what HE did, and now says he would not even accept Cruz’s endorsement. How in the world do you expect Trump to win over America when he pushes away the people that supported Ted Cruz (the guy who came second in the primaries)? Instead Trump tries pandering for Sander’s supporters who hated him before he ran for president. All I can say is if Trump does win the election it’s through brainwashing people into believing him. When you repeat something over and over to the masses apparently they have no will of their own. As we saw them chanting to Trump the other night, “yes you will, yes you will, yes you will.” I joined the Republican Party because I thought Republicans had morals, and Democrats were the sheeple that blindly followed their candidate. Well that is only partly true. Half the Republican Party are mindless zombies, the other half are the ones who haven’t voted in years or vote for “the lesser of two evils”. Maybe if Trump truly wanted to unify this party he would stop insulting one of the last constitutionalists we have, apologize, and attempt to win over the Republicans he chased away. Sadly I doubt that will happen when Trump said he doesn’t even ask God for forgiveness. As for the folks at Fox News, if you aren’t going to be reporting the crap Trump has put Cruz through, don’t call Cruz the liar. All Cruz did was ask people to vote their conscious, if you have a guilty conscious that isn’t his fault. And while you let Trump tear apart the conservative movement, I’ll be here supporting candidates in any party that actually defend liberty and the values that sustain it.
This was written in the wake of Fox News seemingly trying to destroy the chances of Texas getting a Republican senator reelected.
