Something that boggles my mind is how there are liberals out there who are atheist evolutionists. From my understanding the liberal ideology either functions under a Marxist ideology or a very lenient hippy-socialist ideology. There’s the ones who hate religion and want everyone to be equal, and the ones who love everything and believe personal truths are all equal. I disagree with both and believe that truth is universal and that having the liberty to be different economically, socially and artistically creates better progress. However this article isn’t about the political and religious side of liberalism, it’s about the atheistic side of liberalism. For some odd reason liberals are comprised of anyone from Muslims to gays to strong “scientific” evolutionists, whereas most conservatives in America are still Christian. I do want to write about why I think liberals need to critique their ways of “coexistence” at some point, but today I simply want to address my confusion with evolutionary liberal atheists.
First off I’m no scientist, but I do consider myself sort of a logical philosopher. I think things out by applying logic to reason and history, but I also think into the spiritual side of things and I don’t see whatever evolutionists are seeing. I could try to argue against macroevolution scientifically, but much more knowledgeable people have debated on that topic already. I’d just like to highlight some of my problems with evolution on a moral level. So to start off, when all things are physical and existence came from nothing, then what is right and wrong? If I went out and killed someone and ate their flesh, what makes me any worse than a spider eating its mate? I’ve heard people argue for homosexuality saying that, “it’s found in nature so it must be natural.” So why isn’t polygamy, rape and murder considered justified “since it’s found in nature so it must be natural”? The response is usually something like, “well these things hurt people and we’ve evolved past that.” What if I haven’t evolved past that? Why do other people matter when death leads nowhere? And who are you to tell me what is right and what is wrong? You’re not God! There is no God! …right? Evolutionists should probably admit to themselves, if there is no God, humanity will commit suicide. Greed and depression will become the gods of the earth if material is our only hope. If material is all that exists then I should only look out for myself and show no mercy, because nothing matters in the end.
But wait there’s more!
Hippy-like liberals are usually appalled by racism and sexism, but from my understanding evolutionists should be the most racist, sexist people in the world (which they usually aren’t). Obviously I don’t believe evolution is scientific fact so therefore I can’t really apply any reason to why people have an ideology with a debunked theory, but why stop now? If all of humanity evolved from a common ancestor millions of years ago, progressively getting more intelligent… then would it not be idiotic to assume that this process is still ongoing and therefore some races may be more evolved than the others? We talk about a five million year old process, why does it jump from ape-like creatures to humans? I recently saw an article featuring what scientist think early humans looked like… extended jaw, hairy, slumped posture, thick skull, ect. Could this mean that the race of people who match more of these characteristics are less evolved? If evolution is true doesn’t that mean all of mankind was not created equal? Actually wouldn’t evolution also draw to the conclusion that women evolved to be the physically weaker sex? Funny that it is religion that makes us believe we were created equal and that with God we can achieve anything. Not only does that sound better, but you can find more scientific evidence of God than you ever can find of evolution. Look around and you can see God’s creation, look into evolution and all you find is theory upon theory upon theory based on something we have no proof of happening. For every evolutionary argument, there is a counterargument. Sadly some people decide to keep extending something that is not true till it’s so extravagant that they either look insane or god-like… which I guess is how Hillary Clinton gets her fame too.
If all that remains is our avaricious wit then “an eye for an eye” is the only law that can exists. -Oh, Sleeper
